Gig of the Week: Swn Presents The Wytches at Sin City

1 The Wytches.jpg

Currently on a UK tour, Brighton based hard rockers The Wytches stop off at Swansea for what will be an unmissable night in Sin City!

We strongly recommend you get down for this one (especially as it's being brought you by Swn, who really know what they're doing when they book acts). There'll be traces of psychedelia, surf and a whole lot of loud hard rock.

C-Side is taken from The Wytches second album 'All Your Happy Life' out on Heavenly Recordings on September 30th in the UK/Europe/America. UK Pre-Order here: bit.ly/2aT0TX1 UK iTunes Pre-Order: apple.co/2b2n2Bi US Pre-Orders: Amazon: www.amazon.com/All-Your-Happy-Li...l+your+happy+life iTunes: itunes.apple.com/us/album/all-you...ife/id1139860278 Recorded by Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds / Grinderman) in Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire and Toe Rag in East London with Luke Oldfield.

If that wasn't reason enough to get down to the show, they'll be joined by Welsh rockers The Vega Bodegas & Swansea's very own post punk rockers People and Other Diseases (who played an unforgettable show in the Mission Gallery for the Swansea Fringe Festival 2017).

B-Side to the new single 'Burn Out The Bruise' from the debut album 'Annabel Dream Reader' out on Heavenly Recordings on August 25th 2014 in the UK/Europe. Out on Partisan Records in the USA on the 26th August 2014. UK Pre-Order here: bit.ly/1hIYNDv UK iTunes Pre-Order: bit.ly/1oLsXe8 USA Pre-Order here: bit.ly/1iNdLwh USA iTunes Pre-Order: bit.ly/1jWlOqT Recorded at Toe Rag Studios and co-produced by Kristian Bell and Bill Ryder-Jones, the album will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally.

Originally written by myself, Andrew Plain and Julia Ruzicka, this song was recorded by The Epicdemics. I jammed it with the Vega Bodegas when we first got together and I loved the way we played it. Marc added a G chord to the chorus which made it a bit nastier...he also added a lovely E, F#m, A run for the "we want your body not your mind bit"...and of course the crazy blues licks. (both bands are similar...just a bunch of mates getting together and making catchy music) It was great having Marc singing the first verse and then us all coming together for the chorus. "I would go so far as to say, all you people wouldn't like me anyway"...everyone is in a band these days, and everyone keeps plugging their new stuff saying "this is the best thing we've ever done"...I'm bored of that but I keep saying it too. Seems like a fun way to start a new EP by a new band by already assuming you don't like it. The end of this song was arranged by Andrew Plain. I have a habit of wanting songs to fade out, but Andrew came up with the "where'd all my money, where'd all my money (pause) gooooooo?" bit and it reminds me of a BTEC Beatles. I like that.
